Solar Roof Moscow
Based on the initiative of the DPU Investment GmbH to open up new markets for the photovoltaic (PV) a cooperation for the promotion and establishment of photovoltaics in Russia was appointed with the OAO „NPP KVANT“, located in Moscow and working for the Russian space program, in 2009.
With KVANT the DPU Investment could win a competent partner in Russia who successfully develops and produces modules for power generation for satellites and spacecraft for more than 50 years.
Part of the cooperation was the idea of building a pilot plant for demonstration on the grounds of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow to convey a wide technically interested audiance the solar power generation and storage.
Launched by the German Energy Agency (dena) as part of the „Export Initiative Renewable Energies“ of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy sponsored pilot project was as part of the „dena Solar Roofs Program for Foreign Market Development“ from the German Energy Agency in close collaboration with the Berlin company PRETHERM Solutions GmbH, BAE Batterien GmbH, Inventux AG, Solon SE and also the Rosno Insurance (Allianz) succesfully implemented and ceremoniously handed over and put into operation on 02. November 2010.
The visit of the Space Museum in Moscow and the visit of the PV reference system by the Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit, together with the economic delegation headed by the IHK President Dr. Eric Schweizer on 24 May 2011, was for Mr. Plechanov S.I from KVANT and Dr. Peter Urban from DPU Investment a welcome and joyous occasion to signing an agreement on the establishment of production of monocrystalline cells and PV modules with a capacity of 120 MW per year in Russia.
The Pilot Project
With a combination of micromorph and crystalline modules in a off-grid and grid connected system, the roof system at the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow demonstrated exemplarily the different technologies and applications of photovoltaics. The pilot plant has a generating capacity of 5.5 kWp and generates annual approximately 4.750 kWh.
In this case, all compnents are distinguished by special characteristics – from the very good temperature coefficient and low light performance of INventux modules right up tot he highly efficient cell technology of monocrystalline SOLON modules to the specially for cyclic applications developed BAE Secura PVV batteries.
Participants
The pilot project was implemented at the initiative of the DPU Investment GmbH in cooperation prestigious German companys in the solar industry, OOO "NPP KVANT" and the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics. The German Energy Agency (dena) was Promoter. BAE Batterien GmbH, Inventux Technologies AG, OAO „NPP KVANT“ and SOLON SE are responsible fort he technology. Other partners were OJSC IC ROSNO as insurer, as well as the Berlin Senate a spart of capital city campaign be Berlin, the industry initiative „I am a Berliner“.
